I. Opening Announcements
  • There was no time to return your work in the lab.  You will get as much work back today as I can return.  ePorts are still being graded.  Expect point-spreads next week.
  • You can still SUBMIT the ePort. It just gives you record/proof that it was done even if the system crashes.
  • For those who have NOT posted responses to colleagues, do it TODAY!
  • The next reading assignment will come from the top tab called "Decolonizing Feminisms."  Make sure that you read an article that you like (today or Wednesday).  You will extend your writing and create an extended essay on your ePortfolio by the end of next week.

​II.  What was it like to create an ePortfolio?  What did you like best about your ePort?  Least?  Do you think you will go public with it?

  • Tuesday April 25, from 7-9:30pm: Viewing of docu-series The Kalief Browder Story, followed by a panel discussion with his brother Akeem Browder. [At the age of 16, Kalief was incarcerated in Rikers Island for a crime he did not commit(stealing of a book bag). He was put in solitary confinement for 2 years of his 3 years sentence. Following his release, Kalief committed suicide.

IVa. ENTER THE CONVERSATION: People You Should Know . . .
Today when we say TRANS, we mean transgender.  There was a time when the prefix "trans-" could be a kind of umbrella for many things: translingual, transnational, transdisciplinary, trans-Pacific, but that is NO more.  Choose any ONE video that we watched and write a reaction to it (350 words at least which is about a handwritten page)... in any form or style that you like.  Please submit this at the end of class.

  2. Discuss the connections between your readings and the videos. One of you needs to take good notes and submit the notes about these connections.
