I. Reminders and Announcements
  1. Today, Monday, March 27 is the LAST DAY to submit any writing from RR#1-10. These need to be in hardcopy form and submitted at the end of class.  If you are absent, late, get sick, have a computer malfunction, email them in, etc NO EXCEPTIONS will be made for you. 
  2. For Reading Response #20, attend any one session (for its duration) at the Hiphop Literacies conference this Friday (9:30 to 7pm) or Saturday (9:30-6pm).  YOU MUST REGISTER BY MARCH 30 IF YOU ARE GOING TO ATTEND SO CLICK HERE (registration is free).  If you want to see the program zine or a list of all presentations, click here or click here for the booklet.  You do not need to email me if you attended, just come up and say hello to Carmen and you will be marked off.
  3. Please note Wednesday's homework assignment.  There are no more reading assignments since we move into ePortfolio/website design now.  Make sure that you bring any one essay/RR with you FULLY REVISED.  To see an example of what your writing should look like, click here.

​II. Opening Go-Around
Name the author and title of the text that you read for today.  If you did not do the homework, you will have to pass.  Tell us a little something about this text (in 2-3 sentences).​​
III. Prep Your Homework Writing
  • Read through your homework.  Circle, highlight, or star 2-3 sentences that capture issues that you think are really important for your colleagues to learn from the reading that you chose. 

IV. Sharing Your Writing
  1. Everyone is going to share your homework writing today as a way to share information about today's jigsaw readings.
  2. Pass your paper to the right.
  3. After you read, write a 1-2 sentence response about ONE point raised and its impact on you.  Write this point right on your colleague's paper and be sure to include your name.

V. Whole Class Discussion Questions 
  1. Choose a facilitator for your small group.  
  2. As a group, come up with at least 2 GOOD discussion questions for the class based on your peer's written comments today.  The facilitator needs to write out these 2 GOOD questions today (include the name of your group members).
Framing your questions will not be easy.  Give a little background on the text that you read and then ask a good discussion question.  Do not be SUPER-generic like and do not ask yes/no questions!  One easy approach would be to simply say: X argues  ____.  What do you think of that?
