Part One: Choosing an ePortfolio Style

Part Two:  Workshop Your Writing

• For today, three of your peers needs to read and respond to your writing.  If you did not bring a piece of writing with you, leave your group and go to the lab and get BUSY!  You are wasting people's time by being here if you did not come with the work.
• After you read a colleague's work, complete the peer review sheet.

Part Three: Your Review Focus

1. Does the opening give an interesting story or lens into the essay and flow well?
2. Has the essay removed binary language and gender norming (Look/dress like a girl; Look/dress like a boy; Look/dress like the opposite sex)?
3. Has the essay removed 1940s language (the homosexuals; Colored people/colored women/colored men)?
4. Does the essay incorporate a quote with a lead-in and follow-up?  Is the quote powerful?
5. Does the essay name the authors and titles of the articles being discussed?
6. What do you think readers outside of this class will think of this writing?

Reminders

1. Make sure that you keep track of the URL for any image that you use.  
   
2. Make sure that you are weblinking open access sources.  You can NOT weblink the reading database that we use in this class--- it is NOT an OPEN site. It is only for students in this class.

For Next Class

Come to L2.72.06 for class! OR, come during community hour instead as seats are limited to 30 (or come if you need more time and help).

We are not doing any HTML coding yet (that will be for next classes).  Come to class with the following:

1. Start your ABOUT ME statement (at least 300 words).  Directions for writing an ABOUT ME statement can be found if you click here. Bring a photo of yourself that you like (if you prefer, you can use an avatar instead).
2. Bring a digital version of your REVISED favorite essay from the course to class--- email it to yourself and have it on USB!  We will use it to make a webpage.
3. You received a design workbook in the last class. Have it done!
4. Plan the multimedia elements of your revised essay and decide on what two other essays you will use.
5. Be ready to access your prezi or google slides on intersectionality from the start of the semester.
