The Bridges Poster Project
Ideas & Suggestions
I can just hear it now...
we have to be artsy?
we have to make scrapbook pages?
but i'm not creative at all.
i always sucked at this.
has this professor lost her mind?
do i really gotta do this?
Get out of your head! Just create an image/argument/informative description that people can see rather than an essay to read or a mini-speech to hear. Look at the images to the left for inspiration.
As you can see, you could:
Bring in a FINISHED creative poster in the spirit of a scrapbook page (you can do more than one page if you like).
Make sure your poster/scrapbook-page carries a strong message based on the book, This Bridge Called My Back.
Make sure that you state the name of your section and the author(s) and chapter title(s) that you are referencing... and voila, THREE POINTS! Where possible, scrapbook paper will be provided for you. Come to class FINISHED and ready to display! Please note that if you email your poster and/or for whatever reason do not bring it to class for your colleagues to see, your reading response score for this assignment will be deducted.
